A.W. Faber Artist's Pencil
Johann Faber invented the drafting leadholder. His name appears on the 1861 US patent 33,034 "Pencil" which was filed while he was serving as manager of engineering and production for the A.W. Faber company. Johann Faber founded his own pencil company in 1878. In 1931, A.W. Faber-Castell bought the Johann Faber company.
