A.W. Faber Castell Drawing Pencil Boxes

(1906-WWI)

This is a detail form a display card for L&C Hardtmuth's very successful Koh-I-Noor pencils for the U.S. market circa 1890s.   This is a detail of the early packaging for A.W. Faber's Castell pencils circa 1906. The defeated knight's horse is yellow and his broken pencil/lance is yellowish. Koh-I-Noor pencils were yellow. Do the math.
